Directions to CUA
The University is located at 620 Michigan Avenue, NE. We encourage you to have a good map of the city with you when you travel. Metrorail is the easiest way to access the campus. If driving, please note that all visitors must have a valid guest permit. We are located adjacent to the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

From the West - Route 66
Route 66 from Virginia empties onto Constitution Avenue. Continue east on Constitution Avenue and turn left on 6th Street, NW. Turn right on E Street, NW. Turn left on North Capitol Street. Drive approximately 2 miles and turn right on Michigan Avenue, NE. You will soon see the dome of the Shrine on your left marking a university entrance at 4th Street, NE.
From the South - I-95
When I-95 intersects the Capital Beltway in Springfield, Virginia, follow Route 395 North. After crossing the Potomac River, take the “12th Street L’Enfant Promenade” exit. Stay left (following the signs for 12th Street). After exiting the tunnel, turn right on Constitution Avenue. Turn left on 6th Street, NW. Turn right on E Street, NW. Turn left on North Capitol Street. Drive approximately 2 miles and turn right on Michigan Avenue, NE. You will soon see the dome of the Shrine on your left marking a university entrance at 4th Street, NE.
From the East - Route 50
Take Route 50 West (becomes New York Avenue) and exit on South Dakota Avenue. After approximately 1.3 miles, turn left onto Monroe Street. Follow Monroe Street until it merges with Michigan Avenue. You will see the dome of the Shrine on your right marking a university entrance at 4th Street, NE.
From the Northwest – I-70 to 270
In Frederick, Maryland, take Exit 53, 270 South to Washington. Exit onto 495 East (left exit) the Capital Beltway. Take Exit 28, New Hampshire Avenue (Route 650 South) toward Takoma Park. Drive 4.5 miles and turn left on North Capitol Street. Follow signs for Pope John Paul II Cultural Center by turning left (at light) on Clermont, NE. At next light, turn left onto Harewood Road, NE. Bear right at next light, following Harewood Road. Campus will be on your left; enter at sign for “Ward Hall, Caldwell Hall, McMahon Hall”.
From the North - I-95 to 495
Follow I-95 South to Exit 22, the Baltimore/Washington Parkway. Continue traveling south on the Parkway and exit at Route 50 West (becomes New York Avenue). Take the South Dakota Avenue exit. After approximately 1.3 miles, turn left onto Monroe Street. At Michigan Avenue, Monroe Street ends. Bear left and you will see the dome of the Shrine on your right marking a university entrance at 4th Street, NE.
From Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA) Airport
Metrorail (subway) is recommended: Take a yellow line train (direction of Mount Vernon Square) to Gallery Place. At Gallery Place transfer to a red line train (direction of Glenmont). Disembark at the Brookland-CUA station and exit to the left when leaving the station. Click here for a Metro map.

From Baltimore Washington (BWI) and Dulles (IAD) International Airports
SuperShuttle provides van service from local airports directly to campus. From BWI, fare for one person is $30; additional persons are $10. From Dulles, fare for one person is $22; additional persons are $10. Contact 1.800.BLUEVAN (1.800.258.3826) or visit their website for information. Advance reservations are not necessary unless a wheelchair accessible van is required.
From Amtrak at Union Station
Metrorail (subway) is recommended: Take a red line train (direction of Glenmont) three stops to the Brookland-CUA station. Exit to the left when leaving the station. Click here for a Metro map.
